Solbridge International School of Business is a private AACSB accredited business school in Daejeon, South Korea, established by Woosong University in March 2007. The school business program focuses on finance, logistics, marketing and technology transfer. SolBridge International School of Business awards both undergraduate major in business (BBA) and graduate program in MS and MBA degrees. Solbridge degrees are accredited by AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) and IEQAS (International Education Quality Assurance System).

What is Solbridge International School of Business?

Founded in 2007, SolBridge International School of Business is one the rising business schools in South Korea, where all classes are taught in English.

SolBridge offers both undergraduate and graduate degree programs in business including an MBA. SolBridge's mission is to educate the next generation of Asian thought leaders.

With 1,160 students on campus, SolBridge has 70% international students representing up to 56 different nationalities from Asia, Central Asia and Russia, Africa, North and South America, and Europe. 80% of our faculty members are international professors who hold a PhD degree from prestigious American, European or Asian universities.

Where is Solbridge located?

SolBridge is located in Daejeon, South Korea's fifth largest city with a buzzing population of 1.5 million and known as Korea's Silicon Valley for its scientific research and higher education. Daejeon is only 55 minutes away from Seoul by high-speed train.

SolBridge is part of Woosong University. Under the Woosong umbrella, the university hosts more than 12,000 students. Based on SolBridge's success, Woosong University inaugurated Sol International School in 2014 to offer English-taught education in Culinary Arts, Hotel Management, Medical Services Management and Digital Media.

What programs are included in the Solbridge/IIHEM Joint Academic Programs?
Three programs are included :

Semester Abroad Program:

  • Allows IIHEM students to spend a semester, extensible to a year, at Solbridge.

Bachelor's Transfer Program:

  • Allow undergraduate students to start their studies at IIHEM and complete their Bachelor's degree at Solbridge. Credits earned at IIHEM are transferred to Solbridge.

Direct Entrance MS Program:

  • Allow students to enter the Solbridge Master's program after three years of study at IIHEM.

Direct Entrance MBA Program:

  • Allow students to enter the Solbridge Master's program after four years of study at IIHEM and two years of work experience.

Who is eligible to apply to these programs?

  • Qualified IIHEM students who have successfully completed at least three semesters of academic study and are enrolled either in the third or fourth year at IIHEM.

Are these programs accredited?

Yes. IIHEM diplomas are accredited and "Reconnus Equivalents" by the Moroccan Ministry of Higher Education and the Solbridge degrees are accredited by AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) and IEQAS (International Education Quality Assurance System).

How is the program delivered?

Semester Abroad Program:

  • Students must have completed three academic semesters at IIHEM. Students in their third or fourth year can be enrolled in this non-degree program.

Bachelor's Transfer Program:

  • The first two years of the academic undergraduate program are delivered on the IIHEM campus by IIHEM professors and the remaining two years of the undergraduate program are delivered by SolBridge professors in South Korea.

Direct Entrance Master Program:

  • The first four years of the academic undergraduate program are delivered on the IIHEM campus by IIHEM professors and the remaining one year of the graduate program is delivered by SolBridge professors in South Korea.

Direct Entrance MBA Program:

  • The first four years of the academic undergraduate program are delivered on the IIHEM campus by IIHEM professors and the remaining one year of the graduate program is delivered by SolBridge professors in South Korea. A student who has two years of work experience can only apply for one year MBA program at Solbridge.
Will I be able to transfer credits from IIHEM to Solbridge?

Yes, within the general framework. You can do this through a transfer. You will however pay Solbridge tuition whenever you are on the Solbridge International School of Business campus.

What is the course load per semester for full-time students?

I am working. Can I attend the program part time?

All programs are full-time programs with day classes. Working part-time is allowed after completion of the first semester.

According to the Korean government's regulations, bachelor's and master's students can work on or outside campus up to 20 hours a week.

What are class hours?

Undergraduate classes at IIHEM are taught during the day. Classes in the fifth year at IIHEM are given from 6-9 p.m. and occasionally 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday. All classes at Solbridge are taught in the daytime.

Am I eligible for scholarship?

SolBridge International School of Business offers financial aid in the form of admission scholarships. Scholarships are granted on a case-by-case basis depending on the applicant's English level, academic standing, and extra-curricular activities.

Admission scholarships are given for tuition only and typically range from 30% to 70% of the cost of tuition. In extraordinary circumstances, a financial grant of 100% may be granted

What is the duration of the Admission Scholarship?

Admissions Scholarships are valid for the following periods:

  • BBA Regular Student – 1 year
  • BBA Transfer Student – 1 semester
  • MBA Regular Student – 1 semester
  • MBA Transfer Student – 1 semester

Once their Admissions Scholarship expires, students can maintain their initial scholarships by earning a GPA of 3.6/4.5 or higher. This is the Merit-Based Scholarship. Additional scholarship may be awarded through the Merit-Based scholarship based upon your GPA at SolBridge. All scholarships are only tuition based.

When can I enroll?

Enrollment in the program takes place in September and March.

What are the admissions requirements for the program?

Bachelor's Transfer Program:

  • be enrolled in an IIHEM BAC+5 program,
  • successfully complete two years at IIHEM with a minimum GPA of 3.0,
  • have an IELTS score of 5.5 or a TOEFL score of 550.

  • be enrolled in an IIHEM five-year diploma program,
  • ssuccessfully complete four years at IIHEM with a minimum GPA of 3.0,
  • have an IELTS score of 6.0 or a TOEFL score of 550.

  • be enrolled in an IIHEM five-year diploma program,
  • successfully complete four years at IIHEM with a minimum GPA of 3.0,
  • have two years work experience
  • have an IELTS score of 6.5 or a TOEFL score of 600.
What documents need to be included in my application?

  • An official letter issued by IIHEM concerning the student's status,
  • Submission of application via email, with all supporting documents, to Iskandar Yuldashev at "iskandar (at) solbridge.ac.kr",
  • Proof of English proficiency (IELTS, TOEFL),
  • Passport copy,
  • Certificates of extracurricular activities, if applicable,
  • Personal essay or scholarship essay (if students apply for scholarship),

Direct Entrance Master's Program:

  • Tuition for all courses taken at Solbridge is current Solbridge tuition ($5787 per semester for 2018-2019).
  • Travel, insurance and living expenses at Solbridge are the responsibility of each student.

Living expenses (housing, utilities, meals, incidentals, etc.) are between $400 and $500 per month.

Who is responsible for getting the visa to South Korea?

You are.

Solbridge will provide admitted students with an acceptance letter, but it is the responsibility of each student to get the visa appointment and to obtain the visa from the embassy. Neither Solbridge nor IIHEM will be held responsible for a visa refusal by the South Korean consulate..

Will I be able to work in the South Korea after successfully finishing my program?

After successfully finishing the program students can stay up to 2 years under job seeking visa D-10.

I am interested! How should I start the process?

  • Student submits an application to the IIHEM Director of International Programs (DoIP),
  • Meet with the DoIP to discuss and receive approval of your program of study at Solbridge,
  • The candidates will submit application documents via email to the admission officer,
  • Verification of documents by Solbridge Admissions Department,
  • Scheduling of a Skype admission interview with Solbridge Admissions Manager,
  • Issuance of an acceptance letter and payment invoice from Solbridge with a deadline upon admission
  • Sending of invitation and guarantee letters for the visa application after fee payment is made to Solbridge through wire transfer,
  • The D2 visa is the only eligible visa for international students in Korea,
  • Upon arrival to South Korea, students are kindly asked to show in all original documents and certificates that were furnished for the admissions process,
  • The candidates should reach South Korea before the semester starts.
